"Capture the Cancer" The Successful Awareness Campaign Of The League Against Cancer With The National Police Of Peru
Feb. 03, 2022
To make awareness of the importance of testing to prevent breast cancer, the League Against Cancer and Havas Group Peru, together with the National Police of Peru, launched the "Capture the Cancer" campaign.
Breast cancer is the main cause of death in women in Peru and this is due to the fear of going to an annual preventive exam. The time factor in a disease like cancer can determine the cure or a terrible outcome.
The campaign "Capture the cancer" presented Karen Ocaña Dávila, deputy officer of the National Police of Peru, who in a press conference, told how she had arrested the biggest murderer of women in Peru: breast cancer; and that it was possible to stop it thanks to a timely self-examination. Later, she invites all the women to be filled with courage and carry out the test.
Mauricio Fernández Maldonado CCO of Havas Group comments:
"Capture the cancer was a successful campaign that encouraged thousands of women to take the test. It was key to have the support of the National Police to carry the message that no media could evade."
After the campaign, preventive examinations increased by more than 200%.
