Booc & Khazibo Entertaiment Release a Compelling Documentary About a Young Man's Resilient Ride

BOOC travels to meet PUG, an infamous dirt bike rider from West Baltimore and focal point of the critically acclaimed documentary "12 O’Clock Boys."

PUG’s story became so impactful to culture, Jada Pinkett & Will Smith purchased rights to the documentary and adapted it into 2020 screenplay "Charm City Kings”. The HBO feature film stars Meek Mill, Will Catlett, Jahi Di'Allo Winston and Teyonah Parris.

Despite PUG’s long term commitment to the making of the documentary, he and his family did not benefit equitably from its commercial success. And while the adapted screenplay received accolade from Sundance Film Festival, members of the Baltimore biking community have struggled to resonate, questioning its authenticity.

This controversy creates a question of ethics and responsibility. What ways are narratives ethically exploited and who is responsible for ensuring equitability? How important is it for HBO to retell the story authentically?

Director Chris Scholar and Producer Bevin Brown, ride along a mass of bikers through the streets and backroads of Charlotte, North Carolina to capture PUG’s first ride out since being incarcerated.
